Data Dignity

Technology companies exercise an extremely concentrated power over how people's data is used, and profit greatly from it. They are able to do this because we are "trading" Big Tech services as if we were isolated individuals with "personal" data sets. In fact, the data we generate always has deep sociality. Sharing data affects not only us, but also our friends, family, and communities.
People should be able to exercise democratic collective bargaining power over their data, jointly decide on its use, and negotiate appropriate compensation.
This makes a lot of sense when thinking about it in terms of OpenAI Previous companies, interviews and appearances related to oneself.icon.
